The opportunity
The Product Development and Engineering job family is the core of Magic Leap’s revolutionary AR capabilities. These highly collaborative teams are responsible for our organization's engineering and technical operations, performing cutting-edge and complex scientific research and development that is 'defined as we build' to create new AR products, features, and marketplaces. Activities include undertaking research, design, development, and implementation activities to improve Magic Leap’s AR products and services; designing, constructing, testing, and operating equipment; ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in production processes; interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications; and collaborating across all Magic Leap teams to ensure our AR product and features provide a high-quality, immersive experience, meeting and exceeding our customer’s needs and our business objectives\
As a Sr Manager, VLSI Design Engineer within our within our Hardware organization, you will spearhead the development of a cutting-edge, high-speed, low-power ASIC design for our next-generation augmented reality product. Embrace the latest ASIC technologies and tools as you lead our talented team through every step, from architectural definitions to coding and debugging, ensuring excellence at every turn.
What you’ll do
- Lead the ASIC design team with warmth and expertise.
- Guide through architectural definitions, coding, and debugging phases.
- Participate in ASIC architecture definitions.
- Lead ASIC design team.
- Contribute to ASIC bring-up in the lab.
- Assist in writing ASIC specifications.
The experience you bring
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC development preferably for low power systems.
- BSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. We are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
- Hands on experience with RTL coding.
- Deep understanding of VLSI architecture and design flows.
- Excellent design standards and strong debug skills.
- Ability to work in a geographically diverse team environment.
It’s exciting if you also have
- VLSI design team lead experience.
- Knowledge in computer vision.
- Experience writing Linux shell scripts or Python.
- Experience with Linux OS.
- Experience with integrated hardware-software products.
- Experience with VLSI backend flow.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Great human relations and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in a multitasking and dynamic environment.
- Ability to quickly ramp up on and apply new technologies and processes Education.
