What You’ll Do:
Location: Remote anywhere in the US or Canada, or onsite in Seattle, WA or Scottsdale, AZ
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Software Development : As an SDE, you'll be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying software solutions. This would involve writing code on a Linux based systems and performing unit and integration testing.
- Collaboration: You'll likely collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, other software developers, and possibly UX designers. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
- Problem Solving: SDEs at this level are expected to tackle technical challenges with some guidance from senior engineers.
- Code Reviews : Participating in code reviews is often a part of the role. This ensures that code meets Axon's standards for quality, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Ownership: Taking ownership of some of the phases of the software development lifecycle for specific features or projects. This includes from feature implementation to deployment and maintenance.
- Scalability: Collaborate with senior/staff engineers to make sure you are building scalable and robust systems to handle large-scale operations.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (often Golang, C, C++, or others), understanding of data structures and algorithms,
- Problem-Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial. Axon values individuals who can think critically and devise efficient solutions.
- Experience: You would have 0-2 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a track record of successful software development projects
- Degree: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is often a requirement, though relevant work experience can sometimes be considered in lieu of a degree.
What You Bring
- 0-2 years of experience of professional software development in C++, Go, ,C another systems programming language
- 0-2 years of experience years experience writing unit, integration and/or system level tests
- Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design and code quality verification
- Experience with Embedded Linux development and/or RTOS

The Pay:
Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 117,600 in the lowest geographic market and USD 176,400 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
