Your Impact
As a Software Engineering Manager with the RMS Scaling Squad you will tackle the next phase of scaling and developer efficiency challenges for the RMS platform which powers Axon products like Axon Records and Axon Standards. The team is scaling the platform's operations and performance in addition to developing tools and frameworks that improve developer productivity which streamlines the process to build SaaS solutions that provide law enforcement officers with the information they need at their fingertips and to help them protect life.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from United States or Canada
Reports to: Senior Software Engineering Manager
Direct Reports: 5 Software Engineers
- Driving the execution of your team by leading planning, prioritization, stand-ups, and team retro meetings
- Leading the technical direction of the team through architectural discussions and code reviews
- Working with product managers, senior engineers, and client teams to get ‘ahead of the curve' and explore new opportunities.
- Join forces with recruiting to hire a top-notch engineering team
- Managing engineers and their careers with 1:1s and performance reviews
- Execute and deliver new features and improvements to customers on a regular basis
- Coaching your team for continuous improvements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or an equivalent highly technical field
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering
- 2+ years of experience managing software developers building customer-facing software applications
- A track record of planning and delivering on multiple overlapping projects spanning several months
- Experience implementing an engineering process that emphasized security, availability, scalability, and operational discipline

Pay Transparency
The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 125,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 240,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
