Job description
We are looking for versatile and eager person to be our Prototype Engineer who will be supporting our internal teams in high variety of prototyping assignments. With one team member currently in place, we are looking for someone to take on a key role in our in-house lab, utilizing strong skills in creating prototypes, tools, and fixtures. In this role you will collaborate widely across Varjo teams, and you will get your hands on variety of challenges – there won´t be day like another. We expect you to be self-driven and proactive, able to manage multiple ongoing assignments and you are passionate problem solver.
What you’ll be doing
- Design and manufacturing of fixtures for production and engineering teams
- Supporting design and engineering teams by preparing prototypes
- Develop and maintain lab equipment and setups
- Helping internal teams to resolve problems
Our expectations
- Experience with CNC, 3D printing and manual machinery
- Skills in 3D modelling softwares E.g. Rhinoceros, Fusion 360 and Siemens NX
- Proficiency in CAM work
- Knowledge of prototyping materials and methods
- Ability to manage timelines and deliverables
- Advanced craftmanship skills
- Good written and spoken English
This is a hands-on role in our Helsinki office, occasional visits to our Espoo production site is required. Our team works in a hybrid mode, but in this role a minor part of the work can be done remotely. Full remote work is not possible in this role.
