About Us
The Dinosaur Game was created by Sebastien Gabriel, Alan Bettes, and Edward Jung — a team of UX designers at Google. The idea was to provide users with a small form of entertainment when their internet connection failed. Instead of a boring error message, they thought, why not give people something fun to do?
The game appears when Chrome users try to access a webpage without an internet connection. Alongside the "No Internet" message appears a small T-Rex. Pressing the space bar turns the page into a simple endless runner game. The dinosaur starts sprinting across a desert landscape, avoiding obstacles like cacti and low-flying pterodactyls. The goal? Keep running as long as possible without crashing.
