You’ll be part of an engineering team, participate in multiple activities to develop features of Axon’s camera products from inception, through design, development, and release. You live and breathe device software that require high stability and fast, consistent performance. You love working with the latest open source technologies, and can leverage your system design skills to make the right technical decisions on a system that needs to be bullet-proof.
Not only can you drive decisions among competing engineering trade-offs, your empathy with customers allows you to intuit innovative solutions for our customer problems. You will be working closely with product managers and designers to ensure we are building the right solution for our customers. You also enjoy mentoring other engineers, and love to be a hands-on teacher helping to up level the engineers around you as of a senior engineer.

What You’ll Do
Location: Hybrid working in our HCMC office
Report to: Software engineering manager
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new features for Axon’s camera systems in in a secure, privacy preserving way.
- Coordinate across teams on a breadth of platforms including desktop, mobile applications, and backend services.
- Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews.
- Participate in technical issues troubleshooting and solving of the team.
- Resolve ambiguity in product requirements potentially resolve conflicting requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
What you bring
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or an equivalent technical field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Golang, and other relevant programming languages.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, runtime analysis, object-oriented design, and code quality verification.
- Experience with writing unit test, integration and/or system level tests
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in embedded software development.
- Proven experience with Embedded Linux development.
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TLS/SSL, etc.) with hands-on experience in WiFi, LTE, and GPS technologies.
- Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity), source code repositories (e.g., Git), and Jira.
- Knowledge of security in computing and best practices.
- Experience with Yocto and embedded Linux-based build systems.
- Knowledge of Cloud services
