As a mid/senior engineer on the team, you will be intimately involved in the architecture decisions that will shape this product. You live and breathe device software that require high stability and fast, consistent performance. You love working with the latest open source technologies, and can leverage your system design skills to make the right technical decisions on a system that needs to be bullet-proof.
Not only can you drive decisions among competing engineering trade-offs, your empathy with customers allows you to intuit innovative solutions for our customer problems. You will be working closely with product managers and designers to ensure we are building the right solution for our customers. You also enjoy mentoring other engineers, and love to be a hands-on teacher helping to up level the engineers around you.

What You’ll Do
Location: Hybrid working in our HCMC office
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager
- Design and implement new features for Axon’s camera systems.
- Work with engineers on a breadth of platforms including mobile & desktop applications as well backend services.
- Consider scale and security implications of new features that you develop.
- Create metrics and monitor them as your features are deployed to customers.
- Resolve ambiguity in product requirements potentially resolve conflicting requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and suggest improvements to engineering processes.
What You Bring
- 5+ years experience of professional software development in C++, Go, Rust and/or another systems programming language
- 5+ years experience writing unit, integration and/or system level tests
- Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design and code quality verification
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded devices
- Experience with Embedded Linux development
- Experience with Bluetooth, WiFi, LTE, GPS
- Yocto experience is preferable

- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
- Experience using bug tracking software (i.e. Jira)
- Experience using source code repositories (i.e. Git)
- Experience with CICD systems (i.e. Jenkins)
- Comfortable with lots of autonomy
- Good communication and reporting skills in English
