We are seeking an experienced NPI Test Engineer with expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Program Management (EPM) within the SMT & Final Assembly, Test, and Pack (FATP) process for device manufacturing. This role requires a dynamic professional who can drive Contract Manufacturers (CMs), influence design reviews, validate test equipment and test script to ensure a seamless transition from Phase 3 (SP) through Phase 6 (PVT) of the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process. This professional will be the subject matter expert for test applications. What You’ll Do
Location: Hybrid working with 2 days a week in the HCMC office
Reports to: Director, NPIx
- As the Sr. NPI Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining automated test systems and ensuring the quality of Axon products.
- Frequently works in ambiguity across multiple projects or components. Actively identifies and seeks clarification on ambiguous requirements. Works with cross-functional peers and uses historical knowledge to inform product requirements and development strategy.
- Track and drive all actions related to SMT, EE & test station development to ensure factory readiness for each build phase (SP, EVT, DVT & PVT).
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions at CMs and supplier sites.
- Collaborate with electrical/hardware design, firmware, PM to create and review Test Requirement Document (TDR) based on PRD and SRD
- Support SMT & FATP tester development with CM based on TRD (Test Requirement Document).
- Test application support a plus.
- Develop robust, scalable, automated test processes to test function and quality of new products.
- Collaborate with electrical design and hardware design team to develop robust solutions.
- Create Statements of Work (SOW) and other technical specifications for third party integrators.
- Perform design reviews, software audits and acceptance testing with third party integrators.
- Collaborate on mechanical fixture design.
- Prepare and manage presentations and reports to high level management.
- Create and/or drive Design of Experiments (DOEs) development and coordination during development builds.
- Develop, execute and interpret GR&R studies, correlation studies and other Measurement System Analysis for test equipment.
- Review and analyze data and drive specification limits.
- Up to 30% regional travel.
- Other duties, as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of factory operations, test development, program management or related experience.
- Strong experience in software development and automated test systems.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, BASH, SQL, Git, and PLC programming a plus.
- Familiarity with DTA/factory firmware development process.
- Statistical proficiency including SPC, DOE, GR&R, control charting, and others.
- Proficiency in Minitab statistical software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
