Your Impact
As a Software Engineer within Video Experience, you’ll have the opportunity to work within a team of dedicated Engineers focused on delivering the video capabilities that sit at the heart of our Evidence Management platform, and are critical to our mission to Protect Life. You’ll focus on bringing intuitive, efficient features to our video player that enable agencies globally to rapidly review, understand, mark up and share video evidence. You’ll join forces with our global teams to unify our playback experience across web and mobile platforms, whilst also collaborating closely with the teams who build our video ingestion, encoding and pipeline capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Reports to: Director of Engineering
- Work within a team developing features for our universal video player, integrating across key Axon products including Evidence.com, for both Web and Mobile
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand customer needs and to ensure clear understanding of requirements
- Be a strong contributor into your team, helping your team to raise the bar through your contribution to code reviews, requirements clarification and solution designs
- Have an unwavering focus on quality, ensuring high degrees of testing and validation of features and capabilities you deliver
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience
- Experience working with Front End languages and frameworks, namely React, Javascript and Typescript
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, navigate ambiguity, and join forces with your team to solve challenging problems
- Understanding of common web technologies, protocols and API approaches
- Good communicator, able to take technical concepts and make these accessible to a range of audiences
- Exposure to version management and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, TeamCity, ArgoCD, etc
- Desirable - Exposure to backend managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, C#, or similar
- Desirable - Exposure to working with Video Players
